Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using Pehchaan's services (Cloud platform, Box device, WhatsApp communication, parent portal), you agree to these terms. Schools agree by subscribing to a Pehchaan plan. Parents agree by interacting with our WhatsApp service or accessing the parent portal.

2. Services

  • •Pehchaan Cloud: web-based school management platform
  • •Pehchaan Box: offline school management device with local AI
  • •Pehchaan Card: PVC student ID cards with QR codes
  • •WhatsApp communication: automated notifications and parent queries
  • •Parent portal: QR-based access to student academic data

3. School Responsibilities

  • •Schools are responsible for the accuracy of student and parent data entered into Pehchaan
  • •Schools must obtain parental consent during student admission for data processing and WhatsApp communication
  • •Schools must not use Pehchaan to send spam, promotional content, or messages unrelated to school operations
  • •Schools are responsible for safeguarding access to their admin portal (credentials, PINs)

4. Parent/Guardian Rights

  • •Parents can view their child's data via the QR parent portal at any time
  • •Parents can receive WhatsApp updates about attendance, fees, homework, marks, and progress
  • •Parents can stop WhatsApp communication by messaging "STOP"
  • •Parents can request data deletion by contacting the school or emailing satya@pehchaan.io

5. Acceptable Use

  • •Do not attempt to access data of students who are not your children
  • •Do not misuse the WhatsApp service (spam, abuse, threats)
  • •Do not share QR tokens or parent portal links with unauthorized persons
  • •Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or exploit the platform

6. Payments and Fees

  • •Pehchaan charges schools a monthly subscription fee for platform access
  • •Fee collection between parents and schools is direct (UPI to school's bank account) — Pehchaan does not collect, hold, or process parent-to-school payments
  • •Pehchaan is not a payment aggregator and does not hold any RBI PA license
  • •Pehchaan ID Cards are a one-time purchase per student

7. Pehchaan Box

  • •The Box device remains property of Pehchaan during the subscription period
  • •Schools must not tamper with, modify, or resell the Box hardware
  • •Data on the Box is the school's data — Pehchaan does not access it remotely
  • •Only structured academic data syncs to Cloud when the school enables sync

8. Uptime and Availability

  • •Pehchaan Cloud is hosted on Vercel and Supabase — we aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime
  • •Pehchaan Box operates offline and is not dependent on internet connectivity
  • •WhatsApp service depends on Meta's WhatsApp Business API availability

9. Intellectual Property

  • •Pehchaan's platform, code, design, and branding are the intellectual property of Pehchaan Tech Labs
  • •Schools retain ownership of their data (student records, fee records, attendance)
  • •Content generated by AI (progress reports, homework suggestions) is provided as-is for educational purposes

10. Limitation of Liability

  • •Pehchaan is a technology platform — we are not responsible for school operations, teaching quality, or educational outcomes
  • •We are not liable for incorrect data entered by schools
  • •We are not liable for failed UPI payments between parents and schools
  • •Our total liability is limited to the subscription fees paid by the school in the preceding 12 months

11. Termination

  • •Schools can cancel their subscription at any time
  • •Upon cancellation, school data will be available for export for 30 days, then deleted
  • •Pehchaan may terminate access for violation of these terms

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.
